Refund & Cancellation Policy

We value your trust and are committed to handling all refund requests fairly and transparently.

Last Updated: February 2026Effective: February 1, 2026

Donations to Dwyer Foundation are contributions to charitable activities and are generally non-refundable. However, we understand that errors can occur, and we have established this policy to address such situations fairly and transparently. Please read this policy carefully before making a donation.

At Dwyer Foundation, we deeply appreciate every donation made to support our mission. Donations are contributions to charitable activities and are generally non-refundable. However, we understand that errors can occur, and we have established this policy to address such situations fairly.

Our Commitment to Donors

  • We handle all refund requests with care and consideration
  • Each request is reviewed individually by our finance team
  • We aim to resolve all refund matters within 15 business days
  • We maintain complete transparency throughout the refund process

Important: Before requesting a refund, please check your email for donation confirmation. Sometimes donations may take 24-48 hours to reflect in our system due to payment gateway processing times.

We will process refunds in the following specific circumstances:

Duplicate Donation

If you accidentally made the same donation twice due to technical issues or clicking the payment button multiple times, we will refund the duplicate amount.

Technical Error

If your payment was deducted but the donation was not recorded in our system, we will either credit the donation to your account or process a refund as per your preference.

Unauthorized Transaction

If a donation was made from your account without your authorization (fraudulent transaction), we will process a full refund upon verification. Please also report this to your bank.

Incorrect Amount

If you intended to donate a different amount (e.g., typed Rs. 10,000 instead of Rs. 1,000), we can process a partial or full refund based on your request.

The following situations do not qualify for a refund:

Change of Mind

Refunds cannot be processed simply because you changed your mind after completing a donation. Please consider your decision carefully before donating.

Tax Planning Decisions

Refunds will not be issued due to changes in your tax planning strategy or if you no longer need the 80G tax benefit.

Program Dissatisfaction

Refunds cannot be processed based on dissatisfaction with program outcomes. Charitable donations support our overall mission, and specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Late Requests

Refund requests made after 7 days from the donation date will not be processed, except in cases of unauthorized transactions.

To request a refund, please follow these steps:

1

Send Email Request

Email us at refunds@dwyerfoundation.com with the subject line "Refund Request - [Your Name]"

2

Include Required Information

Your email must include:

  • Transaction ID / Receipt Number
  • Date of donation
  • Amount donated
  • Reason for refund request
  • Your registered email and phone number
3

Attach Supporting Documents

If applicable, attach bank statement showing duplicate deduction, screenshot of error message, or any other relevant documentation.

4

Await Confirmation

You will receive an acknowledgment email within 2-3 business days confirming receipt of your request.

Refund Request Timeframe

Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the donation date. Requests received after this period will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis but are not guaranteed to be processed.

Once we receive your refund request, here is what you can expect:

Day 1-3

Request Review

Our finance team reviews your request and verifies the transaction details.

Day 4-7

Decision & Communication

You will receive an email with approval or rejection of your refund request with explanation.

Day 8-15

Refund Processing

Approved refunds are processed and credited to your original payment method.

Credit/Debit Card

Refunds to cards typically take 5-7 business days to reflect in your account after processing.

UPI / Net Banking

Refunds to UPI or bank accounts typically take 3-5 business days to reflect.

Understanding what amount will be refunded:

Full Refund Amount

In most eligible cases, we will refund the full donation amount you contributed.

Payment Gateway Charges

Note: Payment gateway charges (typically 2% of the transaction) are non-refundable as these are charged by third-party payment processors and cannot be recovered. In cases of technical errors on our end, we will absorb these charges.

Currency Considerations

Refunds are processed in the same currency as the original donation. For international donations, exchange rate fluctuations may result in a slightly different amount being credited to your account.

If you have set up a recurring (monthly/quarterly/annual) donation and wish to cancel:

How to Cancel Recurring Donations

  1. 1. Email us at donations@dwyerfoundation.com with subject "Cancel Recurring Donation"
  2. 2. Include your name, email, and phone number used for the donation
  3. 3. Mention the recurring donation amount and frequency
  4. 4. We will confirm cancellation within 2-3 business days

What Happens After Cancellation

  • Cancellation takes effect from the next billing cycle
  • Past donations are not refunded (unless eligible under refund policy)
  • You will receive a confirmation email
  • You can restart recurring donations anytime

Cancellation Deadline

To stop the next scheduled donation, please submit your cancellation request at least 5 business days before the next billing date.

Important Tax Notice

If a refund is processed for a donation for which an 80G tax receipt has been issued, the following applies:

  • Receipt Void: The 80G tax receipt issued for the refunded donation will be automatically voided and no longer valid.
  • No Tax Deduction: You must NOT claim tax deductions for refunded donations in your income tax returns.
  • IT Department Notification: As per legal requirements, we will inform the Income Tax Department of the refund and voided receipt.
  • Amended Receipt: If you received a partial refund, we will issue an amended 80G receipt for the remaining donation amount.

Advice: If you have already filed your income tax return claiming the 80G deduction for a donation that was later refunded, please consult a tax professional about filing a revised return.
