Reaching the Forgotten

In every society, there are those who fall through the cracks — individuals and communities who, for various reasons, find themselves on the margins, forgotten by the mainstream. They may be victims of disease, social stigma, economic hardship, or circumstances beyond their control. Our Relief Work programme is dedicated to reaching these forgotten souls, offering them not just material assistance, but dignity, hope, and the assurance that someone cares.

We believe that every human being deserves to be treated with respect and compassion, regardless of their circumstances. Our relief efforts focus on the most vulnerable members of society — those who have been abandoned, stigmatised, or simply left behind by a world that moves too fast to notice their suffering.

Supporting Leprosy-Affected Communities

Despite being curable, leprosy continues to carry a heavy stigma in many parts of India. Those affected by the disease often face rejection from their families and communities, forced to live in isolated colonies with little access to healthcare, education, or economic opportunities.

Our programme provides regular support to leprosy-affected individuals and their families. We supply food, clothing, medicines, and hygiene products. More importantly, we offer companionship and respect — treating them as valued members of society rather than outcasts to be avoided.

We also work to raise awareness about leprosy, educating communities that the disease is treatable and that those affected pose no threat to others. By challenging stigma and promoting understanding, we hope to create a more inclusive society where no one is shunned because of illness.

For years, people avoided us. They would not even look at us. When the volunteers came, they sat with us, talked to us, held our hands. That meant more than any food or medicine.

Empowering the Third Gender Community

Members of the third gender community face unique challenges in Indian society. Despite legal recognition, they continue to experience discrimination in employment, housing, healthcare, and social acceptance. Many are forced into begging or other precarious livelihoods simply because mainstream opportunities are closed to them.

Our programme works to empower members of this community through skills training, livelihood support, and advocacy. We provide vocational training in areas like tailoring, beauty services, and handicrafts — skills that can lead to dignified, independent livelihoods.

We also work with employers and community leaders to create more inclusive environments. By demonstrating the capabilities and contributions of third gender individuals, we hope to break down barriers and open doors that have long been closed.

Addressing Educated Unemployment

One of the most frustrating forms of poverty is educated unemployment — young people who have worked hard to complete their education but cannot find jobs that match their qualifications. In rural Bihar, this problem is particularly acute, with limited job opportunities and fierce competition for available positions.

Our programme addresses this challenge through entrepreneurship training and support. We help educated youth develop business plans, access microfinance, and launch small enterprises. Rather than waiting for jobs that may never come, they become job creators themselves.

Stories of Restored Dignity

Ravi's New Beginning

Ravi completed his graduation but spent two years searching for a job without success. Frustrated and depressed, he was on the verge of giving up when he joined our entrepreneurship programme. With training and a small loan, he started a mobile phone repair shop in his village. Today, he employs two other young people and is planning to expand his business.

Lakshmi's Tailoring Business

Lakshmi, a member of the third gender community, faced constant rejection when seeking employment. Through our skills training programme, she learned tailoring and embroidery. With support to purchase a sewing machine, she now runs a successful tailoring business from her home, earning respect and a steady income.

Our Commitment

We believe that no one should be forgotten or left behind. Through our relief work, we strive to restore dignity to those who have been marginalised, provide hope to those who have lost it, and create opportunities for those who have been denied them. Every person matters, and every act of compassion makes a difference.

In serving the forgotten, we discover our shared humanity.
