In 1979, when St. Thomas Academy first opened its doors in Gaya, Bihar, it welcomed just 50 students — children from families who had never dreamed that quality education could be within their reach. Today, that modest beginning has blossomed into a thriving institution that has educated thousands of young minds and transformed countless lives.
For over four decades, St. Thomas Academy has stood as a beacon of hope in a region where educational opportunities remain scarce. The school serves children from the most disadvantaged backgrounds — families of daily wage labourers, farmers, and those living below the poverty line. For these children, the academy is not just a school; it is a gateway to a better future.
More Than Just Academics
Education at St. Thomas Academy goes far beyond textbooks and examinations. The school believes in nurturing the whole child — intellectually, emotionally, and morally. Students learn not just mathematics and science, but also values like compassion, integrity, and service to others.
The curriculum includes computer education, ensuring that students are prepared for the digital age. Sports and physical education build healthy bodies and teach teamwork. Cultural activities and arts programmes help students discover and develop their creative talents.
